Barrio Centro Project
Painter Michael B. Schwartz (MBSarts) has been sharing the joy of creative place-making with neighborhoods throughout the United States for many years. A graduate of the prestigious Tyler School of Art with a MFA from the University of Arizona School of Art, he has worked with City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, Philadelphia Museum Art, Fleisher Art Memorial, International Council of Adult Education, Tucson Museum of Art and directed the City of Tucson Mural Arts Program and Tucson Arts Brigade. In May 2009 he joined community-arts leaders at the White House for a historic dialogue about the role of arts in national recovery. His many awards include the Puffin Foundation and Art Matters Fellowships.
